Pregnancy Week 21: Baby Ibby Moves
Just a few months ago (and it
felt like yesterday), I was married to
the man of my dreams, who made me feel special and loves and spoils me with all
those cheesy corniness stuff you find in a relationship.
And BAM, here comes the baby.
I am now in my 21st
week, and oh boy, the baby is really growing. I talked to it all the time, and
it appears that those little ears are listening, and I haven’t been more
happier in my life.
“Hi Ibby, mama nak pergi kerja ni.” It moves.
“Hi Ibby, how are you today? Sorry mama tak makan nasi yesterday night,
mama wants to be healthy and eats more oats.” It shoved.
“Ibby, be good today okay, mama banyak kerja, nanti mama penat.”
Again, it pushes.
Ahh, it tussles and turns in my
belly, and I can feel those strong limbs pushing and stretching my stomach lining.
The movement was mild and gentle, but yes, I feel it. My husband gave me a
funny face everytime I smiled silly, feeling the baby pulsating inside me.
Adib(my husband) was quite
sceptical, he didn’t believe me when I said the baby is super active these
days, until yesterday. He was sleepy at 10 pm, yet he helped rubbed body
butters on my belly.
I told my husband to talk to the baby as he rubs, because I am very sure the baby is awake and could be listening
to us the whole time. Adib looked at me, “Are you sure?”, I nodded profusely.
He rubs gently with half closed
eyes and then he stopped, abruptly. He felt it. His eyes blinked, and he looked
shocked. Again, and again, Ibby pushes and kicks, and out of the corner of my
eyes, I saw my husband blinking back tears, and he smiled happily.
He talked to the baby the whole
night, and smiled everytime he felt those legs and fists punching against him. Ibby remained super energetic the whole
night, and wants nothing more than having a conversation with dear dad.
Dear Ibby, as mama writes this,
mama hope you are growing healthy and strong in there, and mama can’t wait to
see you, you little nugget.
